Design by Milo Duffin and Stephen Roxborough
Out of 320 entries 63 poems were chosen for the second annual members' anthology by our panel of judges. Poems came in from WPA members across the United States, western Canada and Europe. Thanks to all of you who entered! What our judges say about Tattoos on Cedar: Adeena Karasick
Raw and insightful, these Songs from the Northwest invite the reader to
journey through cycles of desire, question assumptions about language,
meaning, being. Each page provocatively pushes parameters, borders, thresholds,
dances on the edge of identity.
Sean Bentley
It always invigorates me to be confronted by poems that stand out from the crowd,
that effortlessly carry a distinct sensibility, rich and unusual images, a twinkle
in the eye, and an equally sparkling vocabulary.
Kathryn Rantala
This enlarging of the poetic conversation to include more without abandoning the
roots is a happy sign of confidence and courage that enlivens all the work being
done in this great place.
